These two connected posters were designed in collaboration with the painter Helena Beese. This was a direct commission given to us by a filmmaker who was running a fundraiser event for his short film 'Pauline Heaven'.
Helena painted the main image, and I designed the font and executed the graphic layout. A variant was also designed to be used in square Instagram format, avoiding unnecessary cropping or framing when promoting the event.
Hand-drawn fonts are a passion of mine, and it was great to be able to utilise the inherent flexibility of working in this style and, in doing so, create a sense of embedded graphic identity.
The second, pink poster was a secret variation created for a friend who was attending the event, not knowing it was also a surprise birthday party for her.
